• Sir Run Run is back! We brought our summer hiatus to a close with a ferocious set of blues by Sarah Wheeler last month.

Now we dive head-first into autumn with music from bizarro-pop troubadours, Colourful Language along with local guitar shredder devilsplender. Come enjoy music in an intimate setting and by donation. Early start time means you'll get to work on time the next day.

    COLOURFUL LANGUAGE
Insatiably drawn to interesting beats and lyrically-driven songs, Colourful Language mixes a strong cocktail of two parts binary, one part electric guitar god, and one part seventies synth sweetie. Delicious. Fitch and Warne are also both members of the west coast danger folk collective, The Geese, and have just returned home to Vancouver after touring the UK and Canada. Now back on their home turf, Fitch and Warne have been pouring their time and energy into Colourful Language, tweaking bizarre and wonderful new sounds into the wee hours.

    DEVILSPLENDER
A guitar shredding skater from the prairies, Rob Malowany rolled into Vancouver’s music scene with big plans and passion to make them happen. Recording under the alias devilsplender, the bandleader/songwriter/producer has 7 full length albums to his credit. Hey! Ho-Hum! Live! (2012) is the latest.

Malowany continues to push devilsplender in broader challenging directions, we can anticipate a new solo devilsplender electronic/noise album and a new full band, roots rock’n’roll Canadiana album set for release in 2013.

Until then, catching devilsplender perform live is your best chance to enjoy Malowany’s current creative state of being.
