The Mohawk Lodge with guests Jasper Sloan Yip, Raleigh, We Are Phantoms Again
The Mohawk Lodge
Since their inception, The Mohawk Lodge have used a working man's approach to their shows, which has left concertgoers and stages sweat-stained as they entrench their reputation as a live band to be reckoned with. Fresh off the release of their fourth album, 2012's Damaged Goods, Mohawk Lodge is set to take its audience on a wild and sometimes unexpected musical ride. Described as the band's take on punk, Damage Goods is a blurry mix of Bruce Springsteen, a teenage Swervedriver, Repeater-era Fugazi and Neil Young circa Ragged Glory.
Jasper Sloan Yip
Vancouver's very own Jasper Sloan Yip is a multi-genre singer/songwriter with a folk influenced pop sound and a dynamic and versatile band behind him.
Gentle harmonies, subtle time signature changes, and superb arrangements are the hallmarks of this Calgary trio. Raleigh's lush composition draws on the finer elements of earthy folk and chamber pop with delicate melodies that hold the whole thing together. Cello, guitar, drums, and boy - girl duets weave through dynamic, newstyle prog-folk resulting in a sound that has been described as "a more thoughtful, elegant indie", and "dynamic, quirky folk."
We Are Phantoms Again
Self called “haunt-rock,” We Are Phantoms Again is Jensen Gifford and Cali Travis.
