The Canadian Assault Tour
Featuring: The Casualties & Dayglo Abortions
Casualties – A street punk band, formed in the early 1990s in New York, NY, the Casualties began as an effort to bring back the hardcore punk sound and style of many British hardcore punk bands (also known as uk82) such as Blitz, The Partisans, One Way System and The Exploited. The band is known to have coined the term "spiky-haired drunk punks." Although their albums and merchandise were widely distributed through what some call 'questionable' media, by punk credibility standards, their music and attitude has remained virtually the same and true to their uk82 and Oi roots. Die Hards fans of the band from their early stages and those who appreciate the value of their music shrug off the subtleties of their success as their attitudes and loyalties have remained the same and are seen as to deserve the success after working so hard at doing what they love.
Dayglo Abortions – Formed in 1979, in Victoria, British Columbia, The Dayglo Abortions music is a blistering mixture of punk, heavy metal, and alternative rock. The lyrics are often referred to as controversial and have led to court hearings based on obscenity charges and obscene material.
