Streetlight Manifesto with Dan Potthast and Sycamore Smith
Streetlight Manifesto is a band that is revered by fans and musicians that love all kinds of music. That's because each member of this seven piece outfit from New Jersey all come from different musical backgrounds. When they first met they never intended to be a touring band, but the demand and love of their music among other factors quickly changed the original course of their initial recording project. Soon the band was touring around the world, spreading their infectious and energetic tunes to all who would listen. One part rock, one part ska, with influences from Latin, klezmer, folk, world, funk, jazz and classical thrown in, the band redefined what most people expected from a “ska” band. Fast-forward three albums later, and after countless worldwide tours, the guys are still at it, still performing live to sold out shows filled with sweat drenched fans, all dancing and singing along at the top of their lungs. And the Streetlight boys wouldn’t have it any other way.
Dan Potthast is a solo/singer/songwriter who has released several solo records independently, as well as having releases on Asian Man Records, and Pentimento Music. He has toured the world over and also plays in MU330, The Bricks, and The Stitch Up.
Sycamore Smith is a man who defies 'about' narratives! Smith writes folk songs in an old-fashioned, vaudevillian rural style; songs about heroes and swindlers where characters including Wolfskin Rosie, Legless Paul, and Bobo have adventures that are at times triumphant and other times melancholic.
