Despite his staggering sense of humility, Chris Alscher (a.k.a. Chris-a-riffic) is a fixture of Vancouver's independent arts scene. He's fronted his own project, Bible Belts, for years; was a member of local success story They Shoot Horses Don't They?; has hosted radio shows on CBC Radio 3 and CiTR; and used to host events in his shed. Alscher doesn't view music as a novelty, but as a fibre running through his life, entwined in his timeline in a way that's impossible to disentangle.
prOphecy sun is East Vancouver’s noise darling – a siren who creates ghostly, looping vocal drones and free style field recordings, with breathing & throat singing, a handmade theremin and a knapsack full of small musical objects. http://prophecysun.ca/
